Popular comedian-turned-politician Jalang’o had built a reputation for making people laugh before entering politics. On the other hand, content creator Mjaka Mfine was known for her viral videos and energetic personality.
Although they publicly insisted they were just friends, rumors had circulated online for months that there was more to their relationship than either was willing to admit.
One quiet Saturday evening, Jalang’o invited Mjaka Mfine to his home. Wanting to avoid attention, she arrived discreetly after sunset.
The two spent the evening catching up over dinner. They laughed about internet trolls, shared stories from their busy careers, and watched some of Mjaka’s old videos that had made millions laugh. “What’s this for?” she asked.
“Transport money,” Jalang’o replied confidently.
Mjaka unfolded the cash and counted it.

Jalang’o nodded proudly.
For a moment there was silence before Mjaka burst into laughter.
“You’re a politician and a former top comedian, and this is all you’re giving me?”
Jalang’o started laughing too.
“It was meant to be a thoughtful gesture!”
Mjaka shook her head, still laughing. “Next time, keep your transport money.”
The two continued joking about it as she headed for the door. What had started as a simple gesture ended up becoming the funniest part of their entire weekend together.
Long after Mjaka left, Jalang’o found himself smiling at the memory. Whatever happened between them, one thing was certain—the story of the KSh 2,500 would remain their private joke for a very long time.
